History

The joint stock company BIM from Sveti Nikole was formed in 1957 as a factory for the production of bitumen hydro-isolation materials. It has been continuously developing since then, above all in the production of classical bitumen hydro-isolation tapes, classical bitumen masses, bitumen varnishes and bitumen emulsion for roads.
In 1964 it specialized in building using its own products.
From 1976 there was a new period in the company's development, because a new factory was put into operation which provided better quality products and bigger development opportunities. The same year a patient right was acquired for the production of plastic tapes (Bikutop) from "MEYNADIER" Switzerland.
It started producing Bitumen shingle in 1985 and in 1988 started a significant segment in the development of the polymer bitumen with the production of Bikumass-M and the cold paste Bimizol.
With the privatization process from 1991 the joint stock company BIM became a private company.
The joint stock company BIM has made special contribution in the roads modernization with the production of the polymer bitumen Polybim from 1998.
